I´ve been working a little in this campaign, in part because I change the main argument, In part I´ve been working in lots of things at the same time. So, I present to my entry at 50%, lots of things has to be made, so....

The Last Copper Mine

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here´s my entry, hope you like it...

The Story...
"Protecting the Copper Mine"

WWIII affected many countries, and one of them was Chile. With lots of military hardware aqcuired from the Soviet Union, the Republic of Peru, launched a massive invasion to grab the northern regions their southern neighbour.
With a big amount of the Chilean Armed Forces commited in support of the Allied military in the fight against communist forces in Panama Canal, Mexico and Australia, the initial assault of the Peruvian Army (supported by the local communist guerrilla) was thought a big success.
But the Chilean Military wasn´t defeated...after a long and costly battle, that lasted almost 3 years, the Chilean Army, Navy and the Air Force honored their motto´s "Always Victorious, Never Defeated" & "Win or Die", pushed the peruvians away and destroyed most of the communist guerrilla forces.
After the conflict, the Chilean Army had to be stretched in the protection of all working industrial premises along the country, take care of border control, police duties in the cities and county and so on. When international trade with industrialized nations stopped, the panic of the people growed around South America since the nuclear exchange between NATO and Soviet Union, that fact treatened the very foundations of the relatively untouched chilean society: thousands of refugees, marauders and ex-soldiers of the defeated peruvian army and reborn communist guerrilla, flooded the almost intact chilean land...
In this dark and apocaliptic world, we found a single M41A1(CH) light tank and a few soldiers protecting the entrance of a copper mine, against ex-peruvian army renegades and local marauders. Left alone In the middle of the dryest desert of the world, with only 400 liters of diesel fuel and little supplies of water and food, this soldiers of the Armored Cavalry Regiment "Granaderos" (Grenadiers), even in the worst conditions, are still committed to their oath to defend their country at all costs...

Hope you like the "preview" :-) :-)
Thanks for looking
Best Regards

Wow very nice. I might try to brighten the dio a little before taking the photos as details are hidden under the shadows cast by the light. Try placing more light facing the model from either the left or right of the camera.

Other than that, i really like the base you did.

What were the poles used for?

Hi Jeremy,
The poles are leftovers from an Italeri kit (Telegaph Poles , i guess that was the name),has not been painted yet...I´m planning to place there the road signs for the dio, and hold some scratch barbwire....
The base is made of Das modelling clay, and the stones are cat litter.....
Sorry about the lack of light, but I took the pictures at night here in Chile. Tomorrow I´ll edit the post and take more pictures.some with more adecuate light,
Best Regards

Very nice so far. The one thing I am unsure is how does the viewer knows it's a copper mine?

I knew that some one would ask that :-) :-) :-) :-)

¿Do you see the poles? There´s where´I´m going to place the road signs to identify that matter

You have done a better job then me on the Mean looking Bulldog

Do you want the barrel down?? Because it looks a bit strange.
It looks like the tank will shoot the guy in his #ss :-)

If that is the way you want then is that little guy weird, he should notice that there is a tank behind him :-)

Nice dio though

I only have one question, take no offense, its just me, EasyOff being me... I'm wondering if it might be a little more understanding if you'd remove the poles behind the tank? To me, and its just me, I'm a pain in the butt when it comes time for this, but, it looks like there could be no way for the tank to get there without running over the poles.

Sometimes we just over look stuff like this and say to ourselves after someone tells us.. OH, ya, what was I thinking....

Keep up the good work, I haven't build a dio in a long time and I admire your courage to ask us for opinions.
