Greetings,
Not that I can complain about user sign-ups (we have been averaging about 8 a day of lately), but I just wanted to take a moment to assure visitors of several key points.

1. No spam. I am sure the enlisted members will chime in on this point. But now that we have the e-newsletter (which you have to sign-up separately for) there are few if any emails directed at you from this site.

2. No e-mail sharing or selling - This site does not share your e-mail (or any other info) with other sites, commercial companies, anyone. Period. Nor will we ever. I am a 10-year user of online services and I really hate junk mail. So you won't be seeing it coming from here. In fact if you are worried about that please DO NOT make your e-mail public on the site as it may be picked up eventually be e-mail hunters.

3. Security - This site is very secure. Your password is encrypted in our database and even I cannot read it.

4. Why do you require Registration for posting, etc.? Well there are many reasons. Primarily because it makes users a part of a community. It allows for the database to keep track of your posting statistics, recent comments, news contributed, etc. And it helps to prevent misuse of the site. Also it allows you to customize the site to your preferences and even select different themes (skins) that will highlight your area of interest. Currently this is only available with the Aviator theme, but we will be adding more themes soon.

I hope this information will help you if you have had any qualms about joining. If you have any thoughts on this topic please feel free to e-mail me with your comments.

Thanks,
Jim

Yeah, I've got some qualms. I really like them in a bowl with strawberries on top, with just a dollop of whipped cream to go with it. :-)

Tread,
Lol...you know I think that's the first time I ever wrote "qualms" down.

Hope I spelled it right.

Have you tried collecting qualms for the poor?

I decided to add other reasons to register (and post here)...

5. We don't delete your messages because they may be somewhat off-topic. Also, your login info is saved via a cookie so you don't have to keep entering your sign-in info and email everytime you post.

6. No annoying POP-UP banners!

7. We have "limited" rules. Behave like an adult (if you are one) and you'll get along fine here.

Ron - Well...I guess we can make an exception for someone like you. hehe

Rob - I have found that most of my users have no "qualms" to give.

I love this. As long as you can keep these away I will be very happy. I am not saying that I would not come here if you added them, they are just my biggest "qualms" with the internet. If you do add them thats fine. I am all for you making some cash for all the time and effort you put into the sight, just try to exaust all other means of doing so before you resort to them

Man Jim, with just that one word, just look at all those that could reply in kind...or not so kind.

1 : a sudden attack of illness, faintness, or nausea MY NOT SO FAVORITE...
2 : a sudden access of usually disturbing emotion (as doubt or fear) MY FAVORITE...
3 : a feeling of uneasiness about a point especially of conscience or propriety
- qualmy adjective NEVER ENTERED MY MIND...
synonyms QUALM, SCRUPLE, COMPUNCTION, DEMUR mean a misgiving about what one is doing or going to do. QUALM implies an uneasy fear that one is not following one's conscience or better judgment . SCRUPLE implies doubt of the rightness of an act on grounds of principle . COMPUNCTION implies a spontaneous feeling of responsibility or compassion for a potential victim . DEMUR implies hesitation caused by objection to an outside suggestion or influence .

I'm making a list out now for you and will post as soon as I figure out what each one of mine is...

Wow... this has to be one of the better websites with advanced literary use.
Hey --- try to guess what 'discombobulated' means. I'd never heard the word until my brother found it in some British dictionary or somewhere.

Maybe Pipesmoker is getting a little senile in his 'advanced' years. Modeling in the days before sniff proof glue. LOL

I don’t use qualms because I can’t spell it. I prefer the classics such as ‘trite’, ‘obtuse’ and ‘be that as it may.

Glad I signed up anyway.
