I would hate to have to try to maintain the camouflage pattern every time you returned from the field. The pattern wouldn't do any good against vehicles that use thermal sights as their primary sight.

This picture is also in Concords book on the BMP (the new one). The vehicles with this camouflage are intended to be used in urban warfare. And when you know how colourful Asian towns are, the pattern makes sense. BTW, I suspect this camouflage will be also very effective in a dessert. Remember the British camouflage in N Africa during WW II?
