heres some progress on my africa korps dio.

still needs lots of work,i have not painted the ground work yet as its not a 100% dry.do you think it needs a couple more figures or are 4 enough.
will post more pics as soon as i paint the base and figures.

Love the palm tree. Overall nice tone and texture. I like the figures and I think it could stand on its own if you choose not to add figures.
I did have a thought - the figure with the radio could have a wire antenna strung up to the top of the palm to get reception. You could even go way out of the box and put a figure in the tree holding the wire.

With some nice painting on the ground I donīt think you should add more figures. The desert is not a crowded place... Looking forward to see the continue!

Looking great the palm tree looks brillant as for more figures I might add 1 to 2 more or you could add some tarps for shade.

The only suggestion I have, Karl, is that you dust up the base of the tree trunk a bit. This would be natural with all the dust raised by those tracks. At the moment the contrast between ground and trunk looks a bit stark. Everything else looks really cool.
