What is the general concensus of the availible Marder II kits that are out? Are there others besides the old Tamiya and the Alan models? What kind of work is it going to take to bring these up to par? Sorry for so many questions, I'm just trying to plan ahead. Thanks.

I would hold off buying one yet ,Dragon have just announced the release of a full new tooled Marder II for release in the near future . As far as estimated release date I have no idea. If their recent releases are anything to go by it should be one helluva kit . It will certainly blow the primitave releases from the other two out of the water ! Keep an eye on the dragon website for more details as they come to hand .

If you are interested in the Marder II, I would also suggest waiting for Dragon's to come out. On the other hand, if you want to build a IID, the Alan kit is about the only game in town. If money is not much of an object, one solution is the Alan kit and K59's detail set. This detail set is very nice and while I haven't built it yet, everything I've read about it is positive. Sure looks good in the box.
