Howdy all, I finished this recently and forgot to upload some pics as promised, so here it is in all its glory. The ESCI BMP1. Its not a bad kit at all. A little fiddly around the light guards, but nothing serious. I replaced the spot/search lights with MV lenses. Floquil military colors were used as were the kit decals, all two of them! :-) I forgot to add the fuel stains so common on the rear door fuel tanks, but that is an easy fix. Paint chipping and rust stains were done with Vallejo Acrylics and oils. Thats about it. Thanks. "Q", comments welcome.

It looks good, I've always thought the Esci BMP-1/2 was superior to the Dragon BMP-1/2 kits (won't even mention the old Lindberg kit). Yours looks really nice.

I think I see a hint of decal film around the turret numbers, but your kit looks better than any BMP I've ever built!

Rob, thanks for the kind words. There is indeed a little bit of film on the turret numbers. I guess I can attribute that to their age. Definately not a show piece, but my case is once again getting filled. Thanks again. "Q"

Hi Mathew,
That BMP is nice work and captures the look of the original very well. Really like the weathering effects, not overdone at all. Keep building like that and you will have my attention.

Hi

Always good to see some Russian kit :-)

Hmm wonder how many new tool BMPs DML/Tamiya/Trumpeter could sell ..

Good job on a "difficult" kit.

Very cool! One of the kits I'm finishing up right now is the BMP by Hobby Craft, which is actually Trumpeter.

Very nice, Matt.

Thanks for posting the pictures. I'll definately second the appreciation expressed for your weathering and chipping. Nice and subtle!

Cheers

Jay
