Hi everyone,
Well, in my contest-dio the window is a decisive element. You remember? A german officer is surprised by a plane-attack while travelling home in a train. This was a very frequent and mortal war-scenery. The idea is to present the dio as a shadowbox in which is limited to a train compartment. Outside You can see a plane attacking and inside the officer tries to escape this deadly encounter. The mess is to build an original compartment of the German "Reichsbahn". Here one of the seldom reference-graphics You can see from the interior of a "Reichsbahn" train.
And these are (so far) some of the elements of the shadowbox, which later will be iluminated inside and "outside".
And here a view of the compartment interior (there is yet lots of work on details)
There´s yet lots of work to do, but I hope You like it. By the way: Figure will be a german tank officer. I´ll keep You informed.

Stunning ! Great way to show a lot in a 4x6 inch setting ! It will be interesting to fill in the details like pictures, coat hangers (with officer's coat ?), head cushions, etc...

What a GREAT idea... can't wait to see this one! i have an old book from Finescale Models that was published in 1983... it was actually a reprint of a series of detailed "how to" articles on creating shadow box dioramas... some of the effects were truly awesome. While I have never done one, you may be pushing me over the edge with this one!
