Does anybody know ehere I can see pictures of the sprues? Or at least release dates? I heard they will be making some armor, and after building Tamiyas sherman, I wanna see how theirs compares.

David, if you can wait until next week, i'll try and get some images out of Trumpeter and use them in a news story. Release date is being suggested as christmas 2005, but it may be longer than that- must admit i'm impatient to see more of them as well..Jim

That would be awesome. I have heard their sherman beats Tamiya's by a long shot...

The Trumpeter M4A3 and M4A3E8 are listed as November releases here in Japan. I'm looking forward to seeing how they are, too!

Try the photo section of the Yahoo Heavy Steel group. They are some sprue shots taken at a show in Chicago IIRC.

So Trumpeter is going to compete with Tamiya for the 48th scale market. How wonderful. I've still got my original collection of Bandais that I built in the 70's and about a half dozen unbuilt ones. Could be enough going on here to entice me back

Don't worry about the wheels. This mistake was caught . That is why we are having to wait so long for their release as Trumpeter needed to redo the molds.
Quarter-kit of France and Hobby link Japan have the first two Shermans listed as November releases, Nov. 15 according to the Quarter-kit site.

My LHS told me he was talking with his Tamiya Rep and he advised him that Tamiya made an agreement with DML (cost big coin) and DML agreed not to get into the 1/48 scale AFV market until 2007. Tamiya is only worried about DML, they were not so concerned about Skybow and Trumpeter.

Hmm, long wait ahead, but hopefully Trumpeter's Shermans and SkyBow's Panther and Jagdpanther will fill the void. I sent an email to Trumpeter asking when we can expect the Shermans and was told it should be in the New Year. However, it was unclear if that meant worldwide release or a late release in North America.
