Ok the lift bridge is complete.
Wanted to prime the thing but only managed to do the Verlinden bridge, 30 mph winds , I got more primer on the house and the dog .
Oh well another day.
Doing rivits is boring and your basic suckfest, but its done.
The actual cabling for the lifts are probably not even in existence or workable, but used a bit of artistic license.
The German horsemen were built about 12 yrs ago and were my first attempt at figs. they won't be placed on the bridge but will be in the overall dio.
Speaking of which, this bridge is about maybe 1/4 of the overall build.

Sorry for the pics. of the scary old Polish -Irishman but my 7 yr. old son took the pic. as a trade-off because I wouldn't play Playstation with him.
Instead I let him play with my digi.

Hate to break it to you - but there are SEVEN rivets on the lift motor/cable box not SIX. :-) :-) :-)

I love the adjective for rivets, I'm going to use that at work!!

This is great work. The horses are going to be a great touch.

Hi Cheyenne, This just gets better and better. I dont envy the rivet job you had to do... that has to be downthere somewhere with painting roadwheel tires :-) Anyway excellent work as usual and i still look forward to seeing this whole thing come together. Amazing work. Kevin

Cheyenne,

Nicely done, the embellishment on the upper housing and the “reuse” of former German armor parts adds to the overall look. I look forward to future progress post.

Looks good Cheyenne
I personally find rivets very therapeutic, putting me in ONE with the Rivet-Gods of the universe.

wow, every time I see this dio I am more and more impressed.

I love what you have done with every little detail, especially the really characteristic things like the logs lashed to that little projection on the bridge.

I also admire your technical skills, stuff liked the curved (plastruct ?) girder.

I think you may want to move the shotgun shells out of pictures in future, you're scaring people!! :-)

Thanks guys, today I want to start the control shack for the bridge and the a.a. emplacement that will go next to the other section of the Verlinden brdg.

Slodder, we use that term at work all the time especially when we have to work in [auto-censored]*y weather.
Max, thanks - and keep up the good work on yours.
Kevin, thanks and your input on the old lay-out pics. really helped me come up with a satisfing plan for the over-all build.
Jay, thanks the tubes on the lower main support I-beams that house the cables are torpedo tubes from an old 1/72 scale boat.
Klaus, thanks I love going into my lab and cooking up this stuff - keeps me out of the go-go bars.
Fred, thanks, coming from such a versatile and great modeler as yourself, love your I.J.A. Grace, Ju88 etc. - nice work.

Obi-Wan-O'Meara, thanks and I will try to be one with my punch and dye set. May the resin be with you. l.o.l.

Claude, thanks there are more pics in my gallery.
Dogload, thanks [ love the callsign ] don't be jealous your stuff looks great, hope when I tackle armor mine turns out as good as yours.
BigJon, thanks detail is everything - I'm really anal when it comes to that. Yes thats Plastruct and the shotgun shells are part of your basic home defence kit. Like your blacksmith shop what scale is it.
Thanks again everyone appreciate your comments and input.

Wow looks great!
I have a question. When you primed it, did any of the Styrene kind of melt or deform by chance?

Max, the primer is Dupli-Color, an auto paint primer. It says on the can - sandable primer good for metal, wood, fiberglass to be use with enamels or lacquers.
No the plastruct bits didn't melt - but then again I haven't looked at it for awhile. [ kidding ]
All I have yet to do is rework, paint and attach the piecost to the bridge.
Mirko, thanks man and I'll try and start your Russian house this weekend.
Blockhaus - Carlos, thats quite a compliment coming from my teacher to one of his students. If it wasn't for your fine work I never would have gotten hooked into building stuff. I enjoy creating things and once again thanks.
Diablo, thanks, if you've been following the dio than you know how much I yet have to do, time is my only enemy.
SgtCortez, thanks and just look at everyones work here on Armorama and use your head and you shouldn't have any problems. Your street scene in your gallery is far from shabby, keep at it man.
Parks, thanks man

Hi Cheyanne

Well what can i say i know we talk on the pnone but this is wonderful a fab clean and detailed build ,i feel that your trade mark is that every thing around the house has a use with making models.
I can see you with your own TV programme "Ready Steady Dio" the concept would be that you would be givern a number of non-disscript items plus some basic items and they would say you have an hour to build something...lol lol great work keep it up mate.
However i must say that never never no way would two horses be together in that setting with out Cr--ping all over the bridge,,,and if you need any information i do have a step by step feature on how to create some c--p its my lateste effort at a figure that iam doing lol lol lol lol :-) :-) :-)
Cheers Chris Yahoo its Friday
