Hi,

Has anyone built this kit?

What do people think?

Cheers

Built one as one of the first builds I ever did in Verlinden Magazine. I was happy with the result at the time given my limited modelling experiences. I haven't re-approached the kit but I intend to. It got a lot of knocks on the head from Bruce Crosby and other informed specialists. It appears that the Verlinden trans-kit just pretty's up an already poor host kit. Further I believe that Chesapeak Models or similar do an accurate turret. Fot middle east use you may want to pass via AEF designs. Hopefully, now that Tamiya plans to knock out a good T-55 It may consider reworking the T62 as well. It still looks like a T62, I guess it depends on your personal criterieza. Despite what experts say, I would still probably consider using it as a filler item by afdding the Verlinden update and some P/E and still expect a reasonable kit to result out of that effort.

I built this kit about 1 1/2 years ago and agree with CaptainJack in that it looks like a T-62, but there definately are some accuracy issues. Also, be advised that this is an older Tamiya kit with those $^%$*&$ motorization holes and the horrible rubber tracks that have no detail on the one side and are supposed to be melted together. If accuracy isn't an issue and you don't mind the holes and crappy tracks and you are just looking for a fun build then don't hesitate to buy this kit. It goes together nicely.
