I'm interested. I have a Tamiya V1, and a Dragon V2 in my stash...one of them may actually see the light of day! :-) :-) :-)

Hmm. The rules allow a large range of aircraft. Just about any modern fighter-bomber and attack helicopter count (rockets/missiles as weapons). One could even submit a model of the HMS Hood (which had anti-aircraft rockets) or a PT boat mounting rocket launchers. Most modern ships also use missiles as their main weapons, including cruise-missile carrying submarines.

Sure... B52 w/ a full load of cruise missiles or a Soviet KA50 w/ anti-tank missles - yes.

The Hood w/ a few aa rockets - don't like it. Rules are primary or secondary weapons system and a large ship w/ some rockets not really in the " Spirit " of the campaign.

On the other hand, a ex-Soviet Libyan fast missle boat (PT boat) would be outstanding.

And subs w/ cruise / icbms are great too. I think one of the old cutaway subs you can see the missle tubes would be a fantastic addition the this campaign.

Good Luck

I see. It should be a major weapons system.

I was thinking of doing one of the Revell missile kits I have (Snark, Bomarc, V-2) but I also have some 1/700 Soviet missile boats (Osa, Nanuchka, Tarantul).

Snark or Bomarc would be sweet - I don't think anyone else is doing somthing like that. Missile boats cool too.

Don't forget to register for campaign.

I'm in for this one - either I'm gonna build the M4 LaCrosse Guided Missile System or an Honest John Field Artillery Rocket & Launcher.

Haven't settled on which one yet...

Gunnie,
Either the LaCrosse or Honest John will be great. Are you going to build them on the back of the truck launcher?

Marcel,
You have plenty to choose from - any of those work fine.
Don't forget to register for campaign.

Just about 4 1/2 months to go!

Hey Gunnie, I was thinking of doing the LaCrosse as well...maybe we should do a side-by-side build? (Then I can be truly outclassed... )

Yes for both. I was considering doing another Davy Crocket M113 Atomic Battlegroup Squad Carrier, but the Launcher was not mounted in the M113 - it was dismounted. I think the LaCrosse or Honest John would be cooler for your campaign idea.

I could do a Little John however...

Well, how about a B-wing group attacking an Imperial Star Destroyer? The scene will have a star destroyer in the background and the leader of the B-Wing group seen from behind... Too many rockets in one picture... All rocket engines, from the smallest to the largest... Does it count? I suppose and hope it does, so I am in

The Star Destroyer will be out of firing range, blurred in the final photograph, and the B-wing will be sharp and in focus, seen from behind, in attack position, s-foils open... I will post a sketch as soon as possible.

Might crank out a Redstone rocket for this one in honor of my time being stationed there.

Gunnie,
Thanks for the gallery and bumping this thread back up. I'm excited too, should be alot of fun for everyone. We've got a great group of people so far.

Robin,
Redstone sounds like a great choice. I think I'm doing an SS-12 (in 1/48 cause I've been bit by the 1/4 scale bug).

Come one, come all. Just three weeks till the first Rockets and Missiles Campaign begins!

This campaign is going to rock... rocket that is. LOL
Sorry, I could'nt resist.

Hello friends:

I remember that this campaign was announced in the main page but it is not anymore Also, the rockets and missiles were going to be closed on May 31 but they aren`t too. Does anybody know if there is a failure in the system or these kind of campaings are going to be eliminated?.

Thanks and regards,
Rodolfo

Campaigns are still part of the site. I think that the reconstruction of the site has temprarily removed some of the campaigns but a simple note to the moderators should get them added back.

Some of the campaigns, especially the ones related to general modelling have been moved under "Modelgeek". That's why you can't see them, you have to look for campaigns under Modelgeek.
