hi folks,
i promised to post some pics of my Sherman. Ok, it took a while but i was realy short in time.
Most pictures show the building of the hull and running gear. As you can see, there was a little bit of trimming, sanding and scratching necessary. :-)
But nevertheless the fit is quit good. Tackling with the resin tracks was a real challenge to me. Bending them over the idler and drive wheels was not easy, because the hair dryer i used was too hot for my fingers but not for the tracks. You won't see them at the pics. I'll add them to the kit at a later state. IMG_4601, IMG_4602 and IMG_4604 show the work done last sunday ( Thanks to a misty november day :-) )
Here is the link to more pics: DD-Album

Harald: Try using boiling water for the resin tracks instead. Dip them in using tweezers or long forceps, bend them around the idler or drive wheel, and them immediately pour cold water on the track or dip the track and idler/drivewheel into cold water. This locks them in place.

It's the Resicast kit of the DD Sherman V, BTW, Bradley.

well, it's from Resicast. But it is an old kit which is not on the market at the moment.

Hey

Nice build you've got there!

If I remember correctly you were the one I met during KMK 2005 right?

No, i have to save my time for the next truck campaign. And a big problem of me is that more and more plans grow in my mind. A few weeks ago, i visited an exebition in Genk, where i found cool train stuff for other projects. I ordered a nice concret ramp for a dio that should show Dragon's late Tiger being unloaded from a railroad wagon and a cool coaling station for Trumpeter's "Kriegslok" i am waiting for. An so on, and so on :-

Greetings and happy modelling

Hehe yeah I know the problem. My mind if full of nice diorama plans but most of the times I've got one of these (or both) problems:

- Not enough time
- Too difficult for me

Or a third:

- Once I started I continue on something else.

Right now my 1:16 full option Pershing takes all of my time hehe

time for an update. I had a nice sunday, cause of heavy snow, it was impossible to work outside. Much time to work a the sherman. :-) During the week i found some new refs that helped me out at some points where the construction sheet led me standing in the rain. But don't misunderstand me. I love to build this kit. It's only more time consuming than i thought. And i had to pay my tribut to the carpet monsters. So i had to scratch a part more than needed. In addition to this, I had to build the hydraulic cylinders that should raise the propellers. They don't come with the kit. This time i worked at the rear of the tank and added the duplex drives, steering linkage, exhausts etc.
Here are some update pics:
