This is for Mary as she suggested I put these photos of my fathers and my 12ft x 2ft with hidden return loops. set as Australian town mid 50,s early 60's at the end of steam- has a sting in the tail- look out for a Dragon Bunyip (the little green fellow with orange Mane) an aussie Santa Claus, and Dwarves working the mine and teddy bears in the research and development section and Even Bruce the Barbarian

LOL!!! The best railroad with comic elements I´ve seen. I guess you´re the one behind the dwarves? Btw, wich scale is it? It looks too much detail for H0...

Anders look closely my friend and you will see a few 28mm GW dwarves (new ones coming soooon yea) but the locos and building are 1/48 scale running on 16.5mm track to represent narrow gauge 30inch track

No criticism, but shouldn't this have been posted in the Civilian Models forum?..

IMHO, a model railroad is not a dio...Jim

Jim I did post in the Civilian forums but Mary asked whether I could also post it here as well - it is a military scale and I hope to do a working armoured Train
PS well a good layout is probably the ultimate Diorama as this one even has sound and the scenes are always changing and the figure are set as multiple vignettes to tell lots of small stories - see now you know why I posted it here - If that was wrong I humbly apologise Jim

Yes, now I recognize them as GW dwarfs, looks as if they fit good with 1/48. Nice to hear there are more nerds than me and my friends who drool on the new dwarves :-)

Ian..i still love it. Maybe i was wrong in telling you to post here in dioramas. But IMHO..wether it be a diorama that happens to be train based, or a diorama that has tanks all through it ..it still is a diorama. Lots of hard work and planning went into the layout ..not to mention all the items that were scratch built.. Great Job Ian..

Ian, i love the new pics. This is outrageous!!! The mix between fantasy and reality are great. I think with the ties between model railroading and dioramas that this is some pretty good stuff and deserves to be here. I also think this rates being an "On Display" feature. Cheers Kevin

Jim -australia and especially queensland where I live had an enormous variety of narrow gauge lines and Locos from mad railcars up north coming from nowhere and going nowhere to just up the road from me where there were little local lines that used small german, american, and english locos - I even remember them working when I was young crossing the Main Australian Highway 1 in the 60s- right through the middle of a major town called Nambour only 80miles from where i live
There is a lot of creativity in my Layouts -gets me in a lot of trouble with the Railway purist - but hey I am the fellow who sculpts teddy bears (ps more to come soon) I am very proud of what My Father and I have achieved and also hope to post other photos of my Teddy bear exhibitin layout and my Ork based layout when I set it up again
Then I will have a huge railway all scratch built with hills mines and very hilarious locos-(they are driven by bears) have a look at the loco drivers
