Hi all,
I got the Italeri #243 kit which is reputedly a 2A nothing precise that I would like to turn into a Dutch 2A4.

Could anyone point me the various tweak to be corrected, first to turn it into an accurate A4 and second into a Dutch one (I'm aware of a different bolted plate at the back of the right bustle rack side, and a different MG as well)

TIA for your inputs

Hi Olivier...
Somethings you have to change to get the dutch A4 version:
- Place the dutch disposable smoke grenade launchers. The Leo 2A6 of italeri has them, son you don´t have to scratch built.
- Change the machine gun. The dutch tanks uses an MAG machine gun. The Leo 2A6 of italeri also has it.
- The radio antenas are different too, maybe are american design, some fellow dutch modeler can correct me if I´m wrong.
Those are the ones I know, maybe other guy could give you more. Hope these helps.
Best Regards

Olivier,

For Dutch Leo reference, look here

The Italeri kit makes a nice 2A5 or 6, I build mine a long time ago and can't remember if the front of the turret is detailed or not, as the 4 does not have the (beautiful ) wedge shaped armour pack.
You will have to change the rear part of the skirts, as the ones in the kit are the straight ones, not the 'old style' wavey ones.

This is mine, with the wrong skirts

Good luck

Henk

Thanks for your input Henk.
I've already came across Tanxheaven and saved the whole batch of pics
Unfortunately, I didn't manage to do so with another site dedicated to Dutch armor Twenot. The pics seem to be only thumbnails ones.

My model is the very first issued by Italeri so it is quite correct to turn it into a Dutch variant with some extra work of course as no specific parts are inside ... except the decals !

I'll still continue my quest for valuable info and pics showing the differences between Bundeswehr and Dutch army versions.
