I have the Tamiya Panther on the shelf, probably a couple of kits away. This will give me plenty of time to amass reference material.
What is some of the best reference? Photos, surely, but hopefully action reports and maybe memoirs, too.
Tho I'm looking for info on IR Panthers, I wouldn't mind picking up info on Panthers, in general. Thanks.

I think this series of books is pretty good : AJ Press
especially volume 2 (for IR Panthers)

I also have 2 titles that are Panther must haves, but I can't recall the publisher or title at the moment - I will add to this when I get home

The best book I have is the Actung Panzer on the panther series. The detail drawings are clear and give you all the info on different version of the panthers. There are also photos and drawings on the infra-red system.

I hope this helps,

I'll try to insert the quote of the recommendation for the Trojka book here as well, but will add my NON-recommendation of it also.

I've found NO evidence photographic or otherwise to substantiate the very nice CAD work but otherwise fictional IR set-ups in the Trojka book.

There are many other references out there for IR Panthers, the Achtung Panzer volume being one.
Panther , Quest for Combat Supremacy has detailed information.

The "Solution B" Panther from the Feist book is a fantasy as well. The 3-set IR panther as kitted in the DML Nightfighting Panther kit did not , as far as I can tell, ever exist.

Thanks for the replies. Guys
I looked up Achtung Panzer on Amazon and only came up with Guderians book. Who authored this version that you speak of?

Achtung Panzer is a series of Japanese Publications by ModelGraphix. Amazon does not carry them.
