Hi all

following on from my sherman interior, I plan to get better at scratchbuilding...the only way I can do that is to scratchbuild more!

I am looking to build a drivers compartment from scratch for the Tiger Late from DML. I have had a look..but Tiger interior pictures are thin on the ground.

Does anyone have pictures or links which show the interior of a Tiger ??

Please help if you can

thanks for reading
Jon

Hi Jon,

I have the instruction sheet from Academy's Tiger I mid production, you know, the one that comes with an interiour. I know this is not the real thing, but it might help you getting started.
If you're interested, mail me your adress, and it is on it's way....

Greetz, John.

The driver's area is a nightmare, with more rods and levers than you'd ever think possible. I'm working on it, though. Mail me for my basic measurements.

thanks for the input guys, I was in the dark until I made this thread.

The interior of the Tiger is so much more complex than the sherman.....I must be a fool but I think I'm going to carry on ahead and build an interior :-)

I doubt I'll be laughing when I'm halfway through....

thanks lads

You could simplify it a bunch. Add some seats, and a your basic transmission and radio, and some basic levers. Once the thing is all sealed up, you see very little of the interior.

This may be sacreligious, but why not use the Academy interior, suitably corrected? I believe it has some errors (though I'm not sure what, never having made the kit), I'm sure these aren't unsurmountable, & must surely be easier than scratching it all, or am I just being dense?

The Academy interior is crude. Just about every piece would need correcting in some way.

To help you, I've added dimensions to my page about the driver's seat:

http://tiger1.info/EN/DrivingSeat.html

You should use the torsion bars as your reference grid to locate everything. Fortunately the Dragon ones have the correct spacing:

These three pages are now ready, they ought to help you. Everything in the driver's sponson is covered here. You'll see how wrong the Academy kit is!
