Finished with building that is, painting still needs to be done

I added and changed some things:

- stowage racks on the fenders, made from plastic strips
- replaced all handles on the hatches with workable ones from iron wire
- replaced the handles on the stowage boxes with better ones supplied with the kit
- added persicope guards, made from iron wire
- added plug socket at front lights
- all hatches are workable
- removed half the speaker housing to make more room inside the hull

Well, time for some pics eh?

Hi

I have been a silent follower of your work and I have always liked what you have done.

Now I can't claim that I'm a rivet counter or know nearly as much as the more experienced modellers, so you have always been an inspiration to me...

So, from my humble oppinion, 'I LIKE IT, I LIKE IT ALOT!'

Regards

Dieter

Thanks for the kind word, I'm glad you like what I build!

I've looked into your gallery and your work looks very good as well! I especially like the Leopard and Merkava!

This looks like it will be one serious machine, Martin. I am impressed. I did not have the "guts" to improve my A6 in the way you have done. Keep up the good work

Cheers

To be honest, no idea! It's a whole new thing for me, and working with brass (NL: messing) is different than working with plastic sheets

Also it is still a question if I can realise my plans....but well you know the saying: niet geschoten is altijd mis (if you do no shoot, you miss anyway)

Um... Marty...

Nice work... but... (not to be too picky)

If thats a WW2 Pershing, the commo box doesn't belong there. All reports ( & images ) I've seem say they were added post-WW2 armistice.

And the rear engine hatch hinges look a bit twisted. The edges of the forward pair rest on the fender projections, right? The front ones of the rear pair should too, on the final fender projection. I dinna rig my handles yet, but hope to after some other work.

You manage to find any pics of a stowed Driver's hood, or pics of same folded up on the hull?

Yes I have a drawing of a Pershing with spare driver and codriver hatches stowed on the turret!

Martinn,
Nice work, I like what you did with the engine hatches. I may have to go back and modifiy mine. Did you scratch the periscope guards as well or is that aftermarket stuff?

Martin:

I'll take some pics and post 'em for you to see.

You have good pics of the M26 hoods? Any of them in the deployed position? Tell me they are better than the ones here: http://www.ferreamole.it/images/pershing_man/M26_003.jpg

Andreas:

Backyard Armor carries some, if you don't want to DIY. I bought a set, and very well made. They also carrie cast guards for the lights, as well as cast light casings, and quite a few other parts (including 90mm shells!)
