Well I guess I will pick up some DML kits as per all the posts and responses I have gotten. All the points everyone has made are well warranted and DML seems the best bang for your buck!

The only thing that rubs me the wrong way with DML is this Cyber-Hobby crap. I love the Tiger 1 Early/DAK. I am waiting for the early but DML has had that on their release list for a long time and who knows how long we will have to wait. Then the DAK you can only order via Dragon USA, so now I live in Canada, I have to pay exchange, shipping, taxes, duty border costs, but the time it gets in my hands it cost me $87.00 for one kit, unreal.

I can only hope that DML will see the demand out there and how upset some modellers are and will listen to the feedback and release the DAK Tiger in their own box art. I guess I won't hold my breath though, ha!

Your best alterntive is to get the Tamiya DAK with aftermarket PE.

IMHO you can still build a very respectable model.

Well dml do have very nice kits everyone will agree.

i hear your call on the dak tiger, but look at it this way: Buy a tam kit at your lhs and see what it'l cost you? the kit wont have any of hte am dragon includes.

Even at 87$, it might be expensife, but take the extras in consideration. Buy tamiyas version of the kit and then buy the pe and am , just to see how much it will cost you.

cheers and happy modeling

Could you buy it and have it sent to a friend in the U.S. who could then UPS it to you?

I did a cost comparison on the Tamiya Afrika Tiger kit plus aftermarket accessories vs. the DML DAK Tiger I kit. It would cost you about $135US compared to the $87Cdn (I presume). Fifteen years ago, I spent well over $200 for the Tamiya late Tiger I with Modelkasten early roadwheels, workable tracks and the Modelkasten early Tiger I update. I recently saw a DML DAK Tiger I go for around $85US on eBay so $87Cdn sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

Here's what I would do,
1. Buy the DML DAK Tiger kit that you want.
2. Have it shipped to me.
3. I will then build, and paint the kit to the best of my ability.
4. This is the best part, then I will take as many pictures of the tank that you want and post them here on the site. It's that easy!!
What do you think??
