After i get my autum mist diorama done, ( i plan on getting it done before 05 is over) I got another diorama planned.
This one is about a Convoy of German troops with a 251/8 ? and a Tiger Late ver. with 3 tone camoflauge and yes, the tiger will have zimmerit
What my idea for this diorama is going to be something like this.
A convoy of German troops are moving down a small tight hedgerow somewhere in the Bocage. A plan will be set up and making a fly by. The Germans spot the plane and are jumping for cover.
Do you guys think i should add a Kubelwagon or a Schwimmwagen?

nice idea, wouldnt they spot the plane alot further away than directly overhead? Kubelwagens were alot more common than schwimwagens.

well i mean, its coming really low, over the Hedgerows, Its going to be much higher and with the sound of tanks and what not, i dont think they would have seen it. Its going to in the part of the bocage which was really small and harly no room to move a tank,
BTW
Anyone know any good 1/35 trees?

Max -
Really like the idea. Maybe the "Convoy" (which would be heavy foliaged just for such situations) would be in the process of or just gotten off the road seeking cover. I agree with Ian in that it seems more likely the Germans would have seen/heard the "Jabos" and would be hiding, hoping not to be spotted? Again, with a fighter-bomber flying practically at tree top, they'd be on them pretty quick so something in between? Might want to check out Dragon's "Actung Jabo" figure set. Also, Angela is working on a diorama with this same general theme. Might want to PM her to see if she's got some ideas/info. Keep us posted,

I might do that.
Here is what im really wanting to do. I want to make it seem that the plane came out of no where, and the Germans just were caught off guard. I hardly never see any dioramas that have alot of action in it. The Germans are going to be jumping off their vechiles for cover.
Ill draw out some more pictures what i see in my head .
And after that ill post a poll and have a vote.

Judging by the notation on the sketch you're planning to do this in 1/35? Considering how large 1/32 aircraft are (none available to 1/35), that will be one large dio. It might be better to do it in a smaller scale, 1/48 or 1/72 so that the composition is not so constricted. All of the vehicles are available in 1/72 and most can be obtained in 1/48 plastic. Only the half-track would need to be resin. The 1/48 Skybow late Tiger even comes with MOULDED ON zimmerite.

Im gonna keep it 1/35, i have never build a 1/48 tank and never will.
1/35 all the way for me!! I looked at a 1/32 plane my dad built a while ago and it doesnt seem to big compared to the diorama
Ill still be doing some rough sketches, all i know is im going to be adding a 1/32 plane and 1/35 tanks in this diorama
Ill keep you posted

Hey Max This seems really ambitious, (but that said I don't wanna rain on your parade...)Don't think you should include the plane, as a supplementary skill to portray in modelling your figures is for the viewer to piece together what is happening by your figures' reactions. On top of this, I think Mikes' recommendation of checking out the Dragon set "Achtung Jabo" would show you kinda what I meant... As you stated they will have been surprised by the plane, so they would still be looking skyward, so we as the viewer would know there is a aerial threat.
Does this make sense?
Cheers
