Hi Guys and Gals
Have just built the AFV M115 8in and i want to place it on a diorama base that looks like concrete. The idea is that it looks like it is on display as a muesum piece. I got the idea from one that is on display at the Army base at Wodonga. Any ideas on the base would be great.
Thanks
Andrew

Build up a square form from popsicle sticks and pour gray-tinted plaster of paris into it. Once dry, it can be weathered and made to look just like concrete.

Welcome Andrew
What Gino has mentioned is workable. Remember to add the grooves in the concrete to segment it which in real life would prevent cracking of sections left too large.
In addition to this maybe a roped division and an information plate? You haave probably thought of these already
Cheers

Hi Gino.
Sounds good. What would be best to tint the plaster with. Maybe a tamiya paint?

Hi Brad.
Sounds good. I have a photo of the info plate from the Amy base which i will just reduce to size to suit. It is going to be roped off with some shells painted up on display and also roped off.
It is strange that i sell model accessories, kits and conversions via my site. You think i would be able to do this without help. It just shows that you can never know enough about this hobby.
i have just finished my first dio and hope to have the photos up soon
Thanks for your help
Andrew

Any acrylic (water-based) paint will do. Good luck.

Great dio idea. Poly Scale makes an acrylic "aged concrete" Looks pretty good too.
