In a difficult stage on my Dragon Wagon :
after the initial exciting early building stage, I hit the tedious interiour and figures...
No need to mention the figs are really crap...
Still having a hard time with the decals, they would not stick and look very thick...
Glue the front winch, it doesn't move any more... Will have a hard time putting the rope in place after I painted it...
Started the rear winch while the front is drying... I'll try not to glue those I will need those to move in order to tie them to the sherman...
I finaly managed to figure out this OD question, there are indeed 2 Humbrol OD! The funny thing is that I bought the wrong one, but I already had a pot of the correct one in my old stash!
ANYBODY HAS CLEAR REFERENCES ON THE WAY THE SHERMAN WOULD BE TOWED? Which winch would be used? Is the tank tied with cables at the back?

Here's the pic :

And for those who missed the previous ones...

When you said "towing the Sherman" what do you mean?

If it's just the M26 tractor hauling a Sherman, then it would be towed using the "wiffle tree" attachment (seen in step 19 of the instructions/ parts F6, F14, H6, H5). This would attach to the front or rear towing lugs of a Sherman and the draw bar (Parte F49, F50 in step 17).

See here:

On pages 22 and 23 of the instructions, there are diagrams of how the M26 could draw an M4 Medium onto the M15 trailer or how to remove a load, too

For more tech manual pics, there are several pages here (go to "successiva" to advance pages):

I mean, how the Sherman tank would be fastened to the rear platform during normal hauling.
All the material I have found so far document how the sherman was pulled onto the platform.
I'm looking for the positioning of the cables once the tank is in place.

Nico you'r progress is great it makes me want to pull my second dragon wagon out a the closet lol. (first went to my uncle) A trick for the wenches is to use shippping thread. Since it's already black a little dry brush with silver is all that is needed. On the last page of the instructions is a diagram on loading the sherman, from what i've seen by other that built this kit is the cables stayed attached from loading. So follow that set-up and you should be fine. Again great job. HTH STUG

Hey John, no I haven't seen Shepard's version, is it good?
There are many references on the web they are useful!
Some guy build it all from scratch.

I'm even slower on the build now, since I'm making some blankets to strap on top of the engine, easy made but take ages to dry!
Considering adding straps too for all the stuff in the inside, extinguishers, boxes, but I'm not sure, it will be pretty much hidden when everything is built...
So I've made some progress on the winches in the meantime, almost done...
A picture of all this good stuff soon!

I remember the Shep Paine article where he had an old Peerless max kit and corrected it. This was done several years before Tamiya came out with their fairly accurate version. If that is the one, probably 90 % won't be of any use to you as the trailer in that kit is a M-15a1 which was bigger and different so it could handle bigger tanks than the Sherman. The tractor was out of scale badly. Unless he did one using the Tamiya kit, you are better off refering to the instructions, If you can find it, the Dec. 2000 issue of Fine Scale Modeler has an article about building and detailing the Tamiya version,
