First we had the Citroen 11CV now we get the Mercedes 170 VK military car for the Wehrmacht by Sparta-Modellbau of Germany. And with the news that the Tamiya Jagdpanther will come with options to make variations of the late-war production model and that the StuG III G will come with both kinds of mantlet and a choice of 75mm and 105mm barrels, 1/48 is coming into its own.

In the 70's Revell of Germany produced a series of 1/48 classic cars. I have a 1931 Cadillac which very closely resembles a Mercedes of the same period and could pass as a high-ranking staff car. BTW, do you know of the existance of any more of these kits as I was originally planning on using this model as the basis of an 'O' scale rail bus.
