Hi there,

i'm get started with a us tank crew figure in desert storm from Dragon nr. 3020.
the man with the gun in his rigth hand.

instead of the gun in his hand , i would give his helmet to him.
so he has a bald head.

how do you make hair on it?
and is there somebody with picture's of the inside of the helmet?
or/ and pictures of US tankcrew in the Golf?

greets ShermanSam

Usually, we don't bother with stuff like that, Verlinden and Warriors both offer sets of extra heads for just a situation like this. The heads come uncovered or with helmets, so some will already have hair on them. If you are really set on doing it yourself, just use squadron putty or something and complete the head, it would have extremely short hair, anyway, so just make him look bald, and add a little color to insinuate a buzz cut.

There are plenty of places online, but I know how it is when you want something right away. :-)

You can use Milliput ( a 2 part epoxy putty) to create the hair.Mix the stuff as per usual. Now, there is 2 ways of doing this. One is to sculpt it.Lay it on the head but, don't press down the edges, just the top. Then, using a pin you sculpt the putty to your desire. This works for long hair and medium hair. For crew cuts(which is probably what you want)smooth the putty(which you would only put a very thin, small, rectangular layer on the very top)toward the top of the head, all the way around. Then texture it with the pin.Use paint shading for the close cut sides.Hope it helps.
