What would you guys recommend for the best way to paint these types of treads. Is there an article that someone can point me to?

-Thanks

Thanks a lot. I was looking for something more along the lines of techniques for treads that come as individual pieces.

If they're worakable, I'd paint them as a whole. Indy links would be painted on the sprue and touched up on the vehicle. White metal and resin would need a primer more than traditional plastics.

With non-workable indi-tracks, I usually assemble them as segments, paint them separately and then attach them to the model. Usually I glue the tracks on the drive sprockets in place and make the rest as two or three lenghts. Painting the tracks on the sprue will make it quite a chore to touch up when de-sprued.

Most of the ones I've dealt with came on sprues. I painted a base color with them on the sprue then assembled them and mounted on the tank. After everything had settled down and the glue dries then I'ld go back and weather / touch-up Haven't figured out a plan for the new Dragon stuff yet where the links come separated in a baggie. Probably assemble in sections and paint base color then do a final assembly and put on tank for weathering / touch-up
