The only one I have (in 1/35) is the Tamiya Tiger 1 Afrika Korps version, mainly because I like the North African theater.
At $40 a pop, I think it is too much money to pay for Tamiya Tigers when Dragon Tigers are better and cheaper.
I just bought the Dragon 3 in 1 Initial Production Tiger at Hobby Lobby. It is the most up to date Tiger model and includes a buch of nice stuff. It cost $28.99 at Hobby Lobby, a store that usually sells models at full MSRP (manufacturer's price).
That makes it a good $11 cheaper than an older Tamiya Tiger. Plus I was lucky enough to buy it during a 50% off sale so I only paid $14.50 for that kit.

Well I have to admit that I have at least one of every Tamiya Tiger kit available, bought over the years, but now with the new Dragon kits (of which I have at least one of each of the three kits available) I'm up to my ears in Tigers. I think I'll build the older Tiger kits anyways as I have bought quite a few decal sheets for different Tigers, but I'll just build them more for fun with the different schemes. I might use the extra parts in the Dragon kits to bring them up to date a bit.

I've built the Tamiya early version and I onlyy have a late version waiting in the box for me. That's all.
I don't have any DML Tiger 1 tanks. I try to build my last Tamiya Tiger 1 before I move on to the DML stuff.
I would like to wait for DML to come out an early or mid version.

I've got three king Tigers by Tamiya, but 2 I bought several yars ago at $25 a piece and the last at a half off Hobby Lobby at $20. I did a mid Tiger 1 that cost me $25 and just picked up a DAK Tiger 1 on ebay for $20, so I guess you could say I've done a few, but never ever came close to the $40 for any of them.

I had my Tamiya Tigers in my stash before DML came out with theirs:
Tamiya Tiger I ausf E early (completed)
Tamiya Tiger I ausf E late (stashed)
Tamiya Sturmtiger (stashed)
Tamiya King Tiger Porsche Turret (completed)
Tamiya King Tiger Henschel Turret (stashed)
Seems like I got my all in the $30 something range rather than $40 something - but then have had them for a while.
Have no intention of going back and getting DML's at this point. Have way too many kits in my stash to start going back and "upgrading" to the latest release. Think I can get what satifaction I need out of what I've already got.

I have built 3 Tamiya Late Tigers, 1Academy early, Two Tamiya King Tigers (Porsche and Henschel versions), 1 Italeri Sturmtiger and 1 Italeri Elefant.
I have all three of the Dragon kits....Initial, Late and the Cyber Hobby DAK version. I haven't worked up the courage yet to build them.
It's just like the Tamiya Famo...I bought it two years ago and haven't built it yet. I'm just afraid I'll mess it up.
Oh well...at least I have a nice stash.

I have the Late type and the Mid type Kommandant Otto Carius. I'm currently building the Late type, coz the Mid type is the limited version of Otto Carius....maybe its just my feeling...

Welcome to Armorama, Samuel. Where do you come from? There is no country flag showing on your post.
Only have 2 Tiger I's so far. I am working on a Tamiya Early. DML Tiger I late is waiting impatiently in the stash.

Ah...sorry about the flag. I'm Indonesian. Thanks Donald.
I really preffer Tamiya then the Academy kits, even though Academy offer full interior, but there's still some fit problems here and there. Already have the DML late Tiger, thinking of buying another 1.

My opinion of the Academy "full interior" is rather low.
