Just a real quick question on the colour scheme for the hummers, am i correct to say that the Thermal sight sensor and Optical sight sensor are typically in OD while the tube launcher is in light sand colour for the desert hummers?

Anyone got any reference photos for the desert version? I found the ones in Rob's Motor Pool but that was painted for the 3 Camo coloured hummers.

Usually, the sights are in Dark Green, not OD. The launcher assembly is the same coor as the rest of the vehicle, it can also be in 3-tone NATO or overall Dark Green as well. Weapons systems get mixed, juts like other parts on the HMMWVs.

Cheers for that Gino. Apart from Rob's Motor Pool, there arent a whole lot of photos for desert scheme when it comes to the TOW launcher which is pretty much the one im after.

Much as it occurs out in the field, it still seems weird to have a camo coloured TOW launcher on a desert scheme hummer. Thats just me though.

Usually they are providing if they went through a depot level overhaul. In my old unit, the theory was that as long as there was no bare metal showing, it was GTG.

We've had OD green tripods, launch tubes, primary sights, etc. Only the thermal sight and the adapter ring were in the CARC green. Some tripods were even painted in a OD green, brown and black camo pattern.

That was until we got a new troop CO who cared more about how the equipment looked than if it even worked

The systems that have been upgraded to fire the TOW2B are all CARC green

Here are two good pics:

*Note the different shades of green between the launch tube, primary sight, thermal sight and tripod
