After a little minor reworking of the hotel exterior, the clock, it was time to furnish the interior. Although I had made some furniture earlier, collaboration with Paul (Nato308) provided the inspiration, knowledge, and good humor to rework some of the interior elements. For not familiar with the diorama…

The reworked clock

and now to furnish the rooms

Most of the pieces are made from basswood, cherry, and oak. The bed well that is brass, although not as of yet completed. The bottles are turned from acrylic rod, except the black on VLS resin.

I offer a hearty thank you to Paul Raynes for some excellent printed pieces such as the clock face and other goodies that have made their way into the dio.

I appreciate any and all comments and suggestions

Thanks
Jay

Fantastic work. Really coming along very well.
Don't forget hands on the grandfather clock and a patterned bed spread or at least a netural color.
The staff car looks to close to the curb, the driver should have left a bit of room to get out and not knock over the tables.
I love the wet bar and the detail on the desk - wonderful.

Kevin, John, and Scott, I appreciate the kind words.Thank you
The bed is not completed as of yet I have yet to decide what I want for a bed spread or comforter, nice notice a clock with no hands, still playing with something to ornate to be seen but will make me feel good. The vehicles are still not fastened so there will be some repositioning, plus it still is not finished.

Thanks
Jay

I like the furnitures very much!
I hope in the near future, that i'll try my talents to create some furnitures for a building interior, to prove myself half as good as you have done here!
Excellent job!

Hot damn! The furniture is amazing!

Are you gonna put more traffic on the road? It looks kinda empty. However, you're not finished with it yet, so...

A very excellent job!

Thanks for all the encouraging comments. After nearly two years of working at this, the comments provide a great deal of motivation to get it completed.

There are a number of items that have yet to be added to the overall scene particularly additional figures on the street as well as within the hotel and a few added surprises that will add some additional drama to the overall diorama. Lately the focus has been on attempting to create period style furniture and finishing the interior of the hotel.

Paul: it can only get better if my eyesight improves and I think it is a little late for that.

Once again thanks one and all

I really am looking forward to seeing what you have planned.

If it's anything like what we've seen so far I think that's really gonna raise the stakes in the detail department!!

good luck with it all....all those parts, so stressful :-)
