Hi People, It's been awhile since i have posted anything on my newest project so i felt it was time for another new post. To start I had an unfortunate accident last month with the pz3L that was set for this. I placed it under a lamp to speed up drying time of a wash and it melted the hull But I replaced it and also redid the surround of the dio with hardwood. I have also finished the first flammpanzer and the replacement pz3L as well. All thats left with them is mud and final weathering and also anntennas. Please all comments are appreciated and welcome, so let me have it. Here are the pics.
here is the pz3L
pz3 flammpanzer
Thanks for having a look. Cheers Kevin

Thats one big dio you are going to have there Kevin.
I am looking forward to seeing the progress.
One question for you, the box's on the back of all of you Pz llls are they for a specific use or just stowage? I can't recall ever seeing them before.

Kevin,
Excellent layout, the last Pz in the line will it stay in the basic position that it is sitting? No complaint, it reminds me of a picture that I had seen and adds a great deal to the overall look of the terrain. The armor looks great. I must say I admire your ambition when it comes to diorama.
Cheers
Jay

Gee Kevin,
Looks great . I particularly like the rust effect on the exhaust on the second tank . I cannot wait to see the figures & the rest take shape . Is this a joint project with Mary ? What figures are you going to use for all the tank riders ?
Great work
Love Jenny :-)8

It'll be an impressive dio. The pz pics. are really good , I think you'll spend alot of time for making figures . How will you make to fit figs. on the tanks? Will you built them ? If possible I want to see figs. progress before painting .

Nice update - the PnzrIIIL is fantastic. I can't wait to see your skill in groundwork bring this to life.
I looked twice and couldn't see anything you should adjust or change with the modeling. My comment is about the photo setup. If you used a pillow case or bed sheet as a backdrop photos will be 'smoother' and show off the model a bit better.

Hi everyone. Thanks for so many wonderful comments Im really looking forward to making some progress on this this winter. To answer your questions.
Neil, the boxes are just for storage i think. I added them because they were on most of the tanks I was basing this dio on.
Jay, the panzer going down the grade isnt the one for the dio. I will be replacing it with another flammpanzer. Its position will be about the same, but at the bottom between the hills will be a small brook and I am thinking of having it splash its way into the brook. I had originally planned on having 4 pz3's in line but the base isnt quite big enough for that I think :-)
Jenny, it depends what you mean by joint project. As for a joint project it is in the sense that she has to put up with me all the months in advance that i will be wanting to spend all my free time working on this, and whenever i need an extra pair of hands she will be there to lend them.Mary also stays very busy working on her own things, she always amazes me with what she comes up with. As for the tank riders see the link below.
Murat, the figures are a mix of many different dml kits a few tamiya also may be added and a set of resin tank riders from carter and crowley. I mixed and matched a bunch with the dml body parts to get the figures you see here.
tankriders
There will also be other figures on this from dml, tamiya, preiser, junior model town, verlinden, warriors, royal models, and miniart.
Scott, I fully agree I want a smoother backdrop, I love this color of blue for the backdrop and as soon as I find a sheet that color i will change it.
I really appreciate all feed back on this, Its the only way to find and fix things I have missed, so please share any you may have both good or bad. Thanks Kevin

Damn that is going to be a very impressive looking dio, doesn't look like that there is going to be one area on the dio that won't have activity. Look forward to see more progress reports.

Kevin -
I've been awed by this project since I first saw it and it gets better with every update. You got some great support/ideas from others on the tank riders. They're looking super. The Panzer IIIs are outstanding. With your exceptional talents going into the groundwork, I know this will just blow us all away. Thought maybe a stray farm animal (cow or pigs) down by the stream or running off due to noise? If there is anything you need (those odds and ends stuff for farm or house etc.), I've got all kinds of stuff. Let me know. Keep up the terrific work on this beauty and plenty of posts please.

Kevin, looks great so far, its nice to see someone else is working as fast as I am on things. l.o.l.
I go through my day saying " ok when I get home I'll do this that and the other thing on my build. " Then when I do get home I wind up picking up the kids stuff, removing a pencil from the dogs butt, [ honest dad we didn't put it there ] grabbing some chow, passing out on the couch, then finding myself back at work planning what I'll do on my dio when I get home.
Everything looks like it's falling into place, have you chosen a Season and time frame for the build? Also any particular German service branch, Army, SS, etc. ?
Sorry if you already splained this part but I don't remember if you did or not l.o.l. Less work more play, less work more play.....

Kevin, the dio is coming along nicely... I can't wait to see more. I can invision this in the end and it only makes me anxious to see more. The only thing I don't know yet is what little surprise you will come up with in the ground work. I wouldn't be suprised in you call me up and ask for more signs, or other goodies...Looking forward to seeing this in person.

Hi Kevin
Looks like its coming together well, will you be putting both buildings in as shown in the ref pic, off the boil at the moment with my bridge dio work and all that stuff that gets in the way of modling, lol lol looking forward to seeing this one develop and if its anything like your previous dios it will be a master piece.
Hope you are both well
Cheers Chris and Pam

The dio looks very nice and the blue towel reminds me of the bluebox technique they use in movies :-)
I think it is going to be perfect, we would love to hear about your progress.

Kevin,
I've always impressed by your diorama. Your dio ideas are fresh and fun to look at. I also admire very much of your tenacity building mulitple kits at the same time.
Good luck with your work. Your passion for the plastic does spread around to your fellow modelers.

Ok now tell me where have u find this blue grass that i was searching all over the planet !!!!!!! LOL
pretty nice job so far company there. Its a big project and the main issue there will be groundwork that i know Brother Kevin is amaster.
Tankriders and rest of figures will be also crucial to give the reality feeling , so i know that u will give a good load of care there.
U plan any other special bits , like some cart or left over bicycle or anything to enhance the picture ?
