Hey lads
Been mushing on with this build (got a skewiff hull which will be dicey to put together with my at times oafish skills)
Want some feedback on the fig selection and poses as to accuracy of portrayal and position etc.
Cheers in adavance
Bradley
The figures are a corruption of Dragon & Warrior (Including the driver with Resin body and plastic head???!!!!!) and obviously have been in various stages of construction and painting before creating them in this guise. Oh, and the bulge in the front left of the turret was annoying me as I couldn't find pics showing such a pronounced 'roll' from the antenna mount left front... So I puttied it a little...

Looks great so far! The pose of the driver is awesome. Cool!
Btw, what's wrong with using a plastic head? I have that same sherman in my stash and the figures look very good. I bet the folks at dragon have re-tooled the heads. They're just too good for figures from the mid-90's.

The loader figure looks very good in his position. The driver's position looks awkward. By himself, he has a very dynamic pose, very natural. But his elbow against the turret doesn't make sense. When I look at it, I think he's smashing a spider or something :-)
I think he was designed to be resting his right arm on the gun tube. Would having the cannon pointed straight fwd be bad for this project Brad?
Just my thoughts.

hehe thanks Roy... Actually I didn't say what he was doing, as I wanted feedback to see how obvious it was ie. I modelled it 'right'...
He is craning back to a query from the loader re the time, which he is looking at his wristwatch for... Plus he'll have a cigarette in between fingers on his left hand
I intend it to be a lull in battle, with the commander maybe having a map on the turret which he is perusing... BTW the driver isn't arachnophobic :-)
Think that figure is from the tank destroyer crew which would have him resting on a different hatch set up. He is the bow gunner/co-driver from memory...But yeah, if I was to straighten the gun tube, it would put the loaders pose out of whack unless I rotated the split hatch to an axonimetric position, instead of a more aligned N-S E-W...
Eetu thanks for the response, and yes I have to say that this particular Dragon head is well sculpted
Cheers

Hehe Jenny now I look back it is kinda schmergled...
Watching the 5th Element at the moment and realise that I should be able to understand Leeloo after that example!
Basically meant that I'd have to rotate the split-hatch to an inbetween angle, not N,S,E or W... Or 12, 3, 6 or 9 on the clock...Think this would look too contrived...
Oh and Roy, managed to re position the driver with his elbow a little lower, and have made a wristwatch which is more prominent... After some research today I discovered the hull hatches were slightly off to the angle I had it set at, which gave me more room to move the driver, allowing for the periscope installation
Brad
Another pic showing the repositioning of the driver...
