Hi, I'm trying to figure out the numbering system on the s.Pz.Abt. 505's King Tigers. The numbers appeared on the left and right side of the gun barrel and mantel as well as on the turret rear escape hatch. The platoon and vehicle number were located on the gun barrel followed by the company number on the gun mantle. So 321 would be the third platoon, second vehicle and first company which as we all know is not the norm for German armor.
Ok, now that I have that established here is the question: How did the number appear on the turret rear escape hatch? Did it revert to the normal numbering system so that the above would then be 132?

(Hopefully that wasn't too long-winded and confusing!)
