I have the old tamiya panzerkfwagen and was wondering if panzer gray would be an apropriate color for it.
Thanks Branden

Yep. Anything produced prior to 1943 should be finished in Panzer Grey.

Life, if you are gonna make a DAK Pz II, you can also paint it in Dark Yellow.

Hi Penpen ...Nice little kit you got yourself there...of course it ain't no Tamiya but.... I remember it had alot of sink holes all over even the turret had some so watch out for that ...other than that it is quite a challenge to get the thing all squared away ,but with patience you will make it into a nice little kit .Of course it could use a little PE for the lifting hooks and tool stowage but what kit doesn't need a bit. :-)

And now the problem is : when you can't find the appropriate PE, what do you do ? Do you shelve the kit ?

Branden, your ass makes a lot of sense...um....I should give it some thoughts next time, yeah, why not build one, then get one later with all the superdetailing....Thanks for the simple yet effective solution to my ever-worsen AMS....

Cpt.life,
i'm working on this kit as we speak...
I build it right out of the box to prove that you can build a splendid without P.E. or anything else .
The model will be finished somewhere this week .
For your information i painted it in the D.A.K. colors because i'm woking on a large scale diorama projecting a desert scene .
You can find this posting somewhere in the Armour topics .
Or on my website .
Just click on the Union Jack and from there on the yellow button on the left .
good luck with your model !!!!!!!

What I am going to use is the old Eduard PE for the panzer II at least you have the lifting hooks and equipement holder but that's about it ...But since I got I might as well use it .

lifestyle--Here is another possiblilty for painting your Pz II:
Paint it grey and then spray desert yellow on top and allow some of the grey to show through. During the first few months of the campaign in NA, the Germans sent tanks that had already been sprayed in grey to NA and those were then sprayed with desert yellow in the field. The desert yellow had a tendency to wear off quite a bit because it was done in the field quickly.
