My first question is this, on the Panzer IV J, did the engine compartment have two sets of fans, one set on the left side and one set on the right side? I looked at all my references and I could not see if there was a set of fans on each side.
My second question is about the fans them selfs, what color were the fans? I heard that they were black, a red primer, greenish gray, who knows?

The fans were located on the right side only. The left hand grill was for the radiator. As for their colour, this is all I can find.
