Hi!

I read on the D.Byrden web site www.tiger1.info that in late '44 lover part of interior in Panthers, Tigers etc. was painted only red primer. My Tiger will be late version model (late 1944), so I will paint lover hull with red primer, upper hull and turret interior will be paint ivory. I think this will be good.

For example:

Late Tiger II B with interior

Only late version version of Tiger (steel wheels, late turret etc.) have Pilzen (support for removable crane).

New pics soon...

Best regards from Poland.

I do not claim to be an expert. I only can repeat what others told me: the "general" agreement is that only at the last few month of the war might have been tanks left primed. (I guess it's kind of like the "red-oxid camo" argument. I guess it's as fruitless and pointless too... if you like it red, you paint it red. Really great job on the tank. It blows my mind away.)
What are you going to use for red oxide? Humbrol 113 is said to be good, but I'm looking for an acrylic alternative, so far with no result.

Now I'm not sure...this photo shows Tiger turret floor (Saumur). This looks like oryginal red primer.
This tank was fighting in 102 SS batalion in Normandy.

Yes, I will use H113 + H67. H113 is almost perfect- should be more dark, so I will add some H67.
Exterior of hull in my model is paint with that colour.

after seeing all of your posts so far...you can paint it magenta and no one will argue with you.

Absolutely astonishing. Great job.

Just caught up with this one, beyond amazing. Has this project progressed further? For all those silly people who think Aliens created the pyramids, this project shows you what a man can do when he has the patience, skill and desire.
