Hi
I want to super detail an OIF Bradley-or at least build as accurate one as I can. What detail sets will I need to begin with? I have piles of reference pics-thanks to major Rob's Motor pool and the rest of the internet, I know there will be some scratchbuilding-especially the interior, but I want to make life simple to begin with-so if anyone has a list of all the basic reequired sets for an OIF M2A2-just the standard infantry type that would be cool, I know of a lot of kits out there but thought id check with you guys before I start emptying the bank account .

Cheers
Rob

Really the Tamiya M2A2 ODS kit is currently the best one out there. Leave off the poles (the piece is 3 poles molded together) for the track skirt and the skirts themselves (the piece looks like canvas wrapped around the glacias plate). ALICE packs were used, but I would upgrade to MOLLE packs if you can find any.

If you really want to detail it, there are some metal barrels out there, just make sure you are using OIF current barrels and not the barrels used in early Bradleys.

Eduard's PE set is never a bad choice, but given the level of the kit, I am not sure how much could actually be used.

For a 3ID track, I would recommend getting Verlinden's stowage set for the stowage bins. However these bins were used only for a certain unit in the 3ID which currently eludes me.

Either way, wait for Gino (HeavyArty) and Rob (Sabot) and a few others for that matter, to pipe in and give you the full info.

Jeff about covered it. Most of the mods can be done with sheet plastic and some scratch-building. Personally I don't like PE sets myself, but if you do, Eduard has and interior, exterior, and turret interior set. Here is Vodnik's article on Accurizing and Detailing Tamiya's Bradleys that will come in handy as well. Biggest mod is the interior bench seats. You could leave the individual seats from the old M2 kit too. Many of the 3ID M2A2 ODS vehicles still had the individual seats, not all ODS upgrades are on all vehicles.
