The idea of splitting the site does worry me a little. I get little time on the PC each day as it's a family machine. At present I can look at the 'latest posts' page and view any updates in all of the genre that interest me in one go. If I have to spend longer going between different pages then I'll probably only check one or at the most two and miss out on others.

I'd have to agree with what seems to be the majority - I love the site the way it is. I tend to dabble between genres. I'll be on an aircraft building and see an inspiring armour model, so I'll go out and build an armour model. Keeps me fresh. I enjoy all the forums in one place.
As a computer guy, I realize that you do reach the point at which there's too much content to organize in a way that's user-friendly, but I think that things are so well set up now, that day is still a way off.
Again, I love the site, and thank you Jim for making it what it is.
Cheers.

I'm glad you're feeling better Jim. I'm sure you will lead Armorama into the future successfully. After all, look what you have accomplished so far.
Thanks for a great site.

Jim
Congratulations on becoming a business.. Im sure that the business of Armorama will continue to grow for you. As for 'splitting" the site, I have to ride thecoat tails of the majority.. I think it would harm the very idea of what this site has become. huge online modelling community
Over the almost three years i've been here, I have watched it grow into something that encompasses all aspects of the modelling world. I think everyone has the site set up so they already go to their favorite page, whether it be figures or Sci-fi or LSC. Some may feel that they are not a part of the whole if they are split off..
Ultimately the final deicsion is up to you and the admin staff, but what ever the decision, I hope to be a member for a very long time.. Thanks for all your hard work. to everyone that has, is helping with the site, thank you also. .
Oh and a little .. Where do I get one of those Armoama card thingies.. Would look great in my wallet.. :-)

If you click on the silver or gold A-Guard emblem next to some users' rank, you can support the site through by joining the A-Guard and pay via PayPal.Is there a way we can contribute to the site, via paypal, for example?

So, Jim...
Now that the Big A is a "Buisness", does that make A-Guard members stockholders or investors?
Just kidding! I will take this opp to say thanks. You work hard so all of us can connect and share. I think I have learned enough to split plastic at 40 paces myself!
Keep on keeping on, Bro!

Hi...
great to get the lowdown and the updown.
The site has come a long long way even in my relatively short time.
It just gets better thanks to "Uncle Jim" and the backroom boys ("The Sunshine Factory").
And a special mention must go to Mrs Jim for putting up with it all and all the support she surely gives.
There is one small thing...
I thought you were... in the nicest possible way....(it takes one to know one).
But I'm glad you are and even more so you harnessed the madness in creating Armorama.
I am however not sure I like the possible splitting of the site. There is a great overlap with it as it is. I've met some great people in all areas other than aircraft that I may not have done otherwise. I've even bought some tanks and trucks and done a basic diorama thanks to warm and friendly influences and advise from other areas. If we split the site, the cyber bar is just not real enough to catch up with the other guys.
I am a little worried.
Many many thanks and cheers
Peter
:-) Is it not a good time to find a champagne icon? ah well beer is fine

Hi Jim
I really appreciated your gesture of telling the community these last develpoments! It is also a great feature here at Armorama - honesty!
As for the future "split" - I have to trust you, as others should, because all that we have got today was the fruit of your mind and the little help of all the staff members and of some active members!
So we are, once again, moving forward and making this a great community
For all this, I Thank You, Jim
It's fun to be here, and be a part of this great family!
Rui (aka Skipper)
PS: I hope that you will be a 100% (health problem) as fast as possible and enjoy this moment and the Holiday Season properly

Mr Jim,
it's great to know that our home is expanding and growing to some level that we all can be proud of living 'inside' it.
Thanks for doing it for us all at Armorama. and congratulations on the expanding of your company.
Looking forward for the new forum and the new interface. Maybe some of the changes need all of us sometime before we can familiarised.

Hi again
Having re-read Jim’s original link item, this time using my ‘anti - dixlecsia stick' and mulling it over.....
If the site is growing so big and so fast it warrants splitting then so be it, but could it not be possible to have the Mother site as the general one and to act as the portal or catalyst to the others?
What I mean is to keep the general forum as it is, but when you click to go to say Aircraft, instead of going to that particular area on site, it directly links you to its own site.
I would still like to see the general forum lists kept as they are on Armorama proper, as I think of it as the best site community meeting place (not counting cybrt bar openning hours of course). Its how I’ve met great people and enjoy chatting/discussing tanks, armour etc. who may have remained largely unknown to me otherwise.
Its just that I don’t want to loose this valuable asset of comadre and cross pollination or see it diluted.
Another idea is how about a little status bar for when everything is up or gallery is down etc, a sort of red alert, green is all go thingy?
Cheers
Peter

Thanks for the update Jim, congrats on this "little project" growing so well. It's a testament to your insight and love of the hobby along with the support of the staff members as well, together you've built (IMO) the premier site on the web for scale model enthusiasts. There's plenty here in the way of information, competition, comraderie all without the inflated ego's, in other words ya got your **it together.
I would have to lend my voice to those who are concerned about a possible split of the site in the future. The cross pollenation of different genres of modeling only helps everyone and actually motivates people to do more. I'm signed up for dreadnoughts, thanks to the opportunity of it being available to everyone and a very kind offer of a kit to get me started by Blade48mrd. I probably would have never even paid the build much mind let alone joined up for it without this cross pollenation. Now I've picked up some car models for future builds along with some more "floaty things" and a couple whirly birds, all due to being motivated seeing other peoples builds here and knowing I can get all the info I need right here.
We stand behind you in support whichever way you choose to go Jim, thanks for all that you do for the community!

Jim,
Congrats! That you have been able to bring Armorama from a labor of love to a viable business is a testimony to your dedication and skill, as well as the MANY others who work so hard to keep this site moving ever forward.
I don't post a lot but I spend a disproportionate amount of time poking about here and it truly the most friendly "place" I've ever been on the net- bar none! Again a testimony to you and th eArmorama staff...as well as the residents here!
Looking to the future, to echo what many others have said I think it would hurt the community spirit to split the site, especially the forums! I came here for armor and now find myself looking at almost every "genre" forum here. To me the community is at the heart of what make Armorama so unique, it is an asset that must be guarded.
Finally a huge thanks for making Armorama what it is!
