Hi Gang,

What's the best and most realistic way to make reed? I want to add some vegetation along with the riverbank. Can anyone help me on this topic?

Hey Ben, look at this website...maybe you can find something that will work. To make a cat-tail you can take a wetal wire or plastic rod and put a little super glue around the top of the wire toward the top, and paint accordingly.

I prefer to make them - the leaves are typing (bond) paper painted accordingly and the cat tails are streched sprue with a small glob of white glue added!

Long ago in a model railroad magazine an article showed how a modeler made cat tails by using coated wire. (1) Cut the wire to the desired length for the cat tail, (2) strip off the wire coating, BUT leave a small piece of coating on one end, (3) paint the remaining small coated piece brown, the bare wire green, (4) place several of these in an area surrounded by some green ground foam. It made a believable looking little reed/marsh scene.

Youre welcome! You should explore that website...Milminwh.com...has some awesome stuff. Also check out the bamboo they use, man it almost makes me want to do vietnam dioramas haha. Pleasure to be of help.
