Hi Fernando,
are you sure there is a set to improve a Centauro kit ? To my knowlegde there are only 2 resin kits of this vehicle and I'm a bit surprised that RM would issue a set for them.
I could be wrong though.
I'm aware of a set to improve the Ariete MBT which is quite good and help turning this tank into the version deployed in Iraq.

Hi Olivier,
I only saw the advertisement in Great Model website. I also saw some pictures of a model Centauro suited for Iraqui operations " Antigua Babilonia" if I'm not wrong.
Thanks for your answer for my doubts.

Trumpeter only makes the Ariete, not the Centauro.

The only producers on the Centauro in 1/35 scale so far are Model Victoria and Corazzati.

Royal Model are producing the add-on armour used in Iraq, a figure set, and an aftermarket detail set for the Ariete.

Eduard and Lion Roar make a PE set for the Ariete.

Corazzati also makes a resin kit of the Ariete.

There is also an Italian company, Italian Models?, that produce an add-on armour set for the Ariete.

I couldn't find any add on GMW advertising a Trumpeter Centauro, do you have a link?

Hi friends!!
Please forgive my tremendous mistake!! I would say Ariete and not Centauro. But, by the way, the sets from Royal Models (for Ariete of course)are correct?
Thanks Jason

The Royal Models Ariete update set is not yet available. I asked about the release date of this set on ML and was informed that it would be out in late October at the earliest. It's now December so when that set will be available is anyone's guess. The Royal Models website indicates that the up-armour set is available though.

Italian Tanks make two up-armour sets that appear to be very nicely done. Issue #111 of Model Time magazine (Italian language magazine from Auriga Publishing) has a build article that uses the late type armour upgrade kit and it looks to be very well done indeed. Both of the Italian Tanks sets include the late style gun barrel as well; the kit features the early gun barrel with the rounded bore evacuator.

The Eduard set looks a little questionable to me. The set replaces a number of parts on the kit that in my humble opinion are just fine as is (in my humble opinion).

Cheers - Dan
