What is the best way to make tree roots? I'm a beginner dio guy without posable thumbs, so your tip would really help me out!

Don't. Go out and find some real ones instead. Really fine grass roots are good. Dry 'em and varnish 'em. Look great.

Another option would be roots from very young plants...

One of the figure guys here is working on the Michael Roberts figure Finding Emily. He has some great roots in the base which he sculpted from epoxy. I don't remember if ift was Milliput or another brand.

If you have any of those cursed privet shrubs growing around your place, pull a small one up. The root system on these shrubs are great for making trees or roots. Depending on the size of the plant that you pull up, you can get really big trunks or tiny tendrils that would make great roots.

I just pull up a sapling and wash and dry the roots. For bigger roots I use magic sculpt.
