When I was 13 my figures looked like piles of used chewing gum. I'm impressed Tuomas. The snow looks good and I think "the wet-look" works nice as well. Keep them comeing

I think you have done a very nice job on this diorama. I really like the snow as well. Do you think you could tell us how you did the snow?

Tuomas
Congratulations on your dio - I know that when I was 13 I was only interested in building models - not putting them into scenes.
Just a couple of things to think about for your next project. 1. Try and improve your depth of field with the camera so that more of the scene is in focus - it will let us appreciate more of your work and provide useful feedback. 2. Eyes are a problem for many of us, if you use white for the whites of the eyes they finish up being a bit bug eyed. You could tone them down a bit with a dark flesh wash. I am no expert but what I do is use a lightened skin tone for the whites.
Have a look at people around youor get a friend to stand about 35 metres away and pay particular attention to their eyes - I bet you don't see white!!
I would also like to ask the eternal question - what did you use for your snow? I live in tropical Queensland so I don't get to see snow unless I go way down South for holidays and yours appears very realistic to me.
Keep up the good work
Brian

Hi Tuomas... I think you did a great job! Like what the rest said... the snow looks great.
Hmm... they look a little "shell shocked" (refering to the eyes... Ditto to what Brian wrote about tonning down the white, but hey, you're 13, there's more to learn, don't give up!
)
FYI to all... Tuomas used Leivinjauhe -- Baking powder

Well done Tuomas. At 13 I don't even remember painting my figures much less doing a vignette. A good action vignette with well spread figures. Just a very tiny suggestion though if I may, you might want to reduce the smudging on the faces a bit though as it over powers the features of their faces in the photos.
Good work looking forward to more of your dios.

Well done... especially at such an early age. One area to focus on would be the "eyes"... there is quite a large bit of white there, which detracts from an otherwise well executed diorama of figures. I usually use the tiniest brush to create a white slit, and then dot the white area with a bit of black. It is still possible for you to go back with a bit of flesh-tone paint and reduce the size of the white "over-run"
Keep up the good work... the reason to share you photos is to give others the opportunity to see and enjoy what you have done, and at the same time, impart ideas and concepts to help you become better at your hobby....

Well done, I think if you keep modelling, you will have a great future and I look forward to seeing more of your work as you mature.
Its great to see a young modeller taking part and not just empoying a PS2 for rest and relaxation, which does happen.
Seasons greetings,
John

Great little vignette, Tuomas. I have always admired the Finnish troops in their fight against the Soviets during the Winter War (1939-40) and in the Continuation War (1941-45). At odds of more then 10 to 1 in most actions, the Finns held their own. You picked a very interesting subject, and one to be proud of !
You are off to a great start at modelling. Keep up the good work
Cheers !!

Tuomas, you did very we'll on this dio. You're still so young that you can learn much more about painting and making dio's. So that if you are around 19 years old you can say I'm the best! Keep on going boy, greetz Eric (007)
