Thanks Seb
a lot of the inside is included ,which is very good ,but like most kits ,they all need that bit extra
Check out my gallery to see some earlier pics of the build inc the engine.
SWMBO is trying to rush me on this, as she wants the dining table for xmas dinner!!!!
In the great words of Rambo "Don't push me". Lets go round my mums for dinner and leave the tank ALONE!!!

Hi, A really good job on your vehicle so far. I really like the detailing you have done to the radio area. Nice wiring and a nice bag as well. And the ammunition detail painting is great too.

The detailing on the inside of the front plate is really nice. I like how you detailed those gauges and did the wiring. Looks nice.

This kit provides loads of scratch-building possibilities for anybody who wishes to go for it.

Hope to see more of it as you go along. You provide inspiration for the rest of us.

Take care, Sgirty

I just started my "43" 3 days ago and she is going together very well, nice to build a kit with such big parts.

Thanks for posting your pics

Spectacular piece of work Andy. I have one of these in my stash. What is your impression of the overall fit of the kit ? Did it go together well ? Did you have any major issues ?

... quite an amazing work there andy, looks just like the real thing. i've been thinking whether to buy this kit myself.

question: with the tons of interior details, how much is going to be visible when you attach the top hull & turret? or can they be removed easily (without glueing) to show the interior?

Andy, Looking great so far! I have to second what Steve said. You have all the pics, and it would be a shame to see them disappear into the threads. Write it up as a feature and it's there for all to see. Great work!

Wow thanks for the feedback guys,I've never really shown off my work before, but this site is fantastic, the only drawback is dividing my limited time between here and my workbench(dining table!!!)...
Seb..no dio mate NOOOO ROOM
Peter..no major fit problems as yet ,it goes together very well, the turret roof might cause a problem as I've had to chop bits here and there to get the mg racks to fit.
MoJimbo..I chose the 42 mod because of the big hatch, and I like the shape of the turret, with both the main hatch and the drivers hatch open it lets a lot of light in so you can see a fair bit inside,as for removal the turret just lifts off, easy!
The hull is a pretty good fit ,I was going to glue it down, but I'm having second thoughts now,I'm toying with the idea of using poly caps(like the ones that hold the wheels on etc) for a snug fit,and easy removal.
Steve/Vinnie..I'm delighted that you want me to do a piece on it,which I will do when its complete,I have more pics on my pc which I will transfer to my gallery along with the others.
In the meantime I will be glad to answer any questions I can about it.
Once again thanks for your comments chums

Andy...incredible work! It's amazing what you've done with the seats, radio, wiring and ammo and their various racks & boxes. The engine and transmission are jewels. The bit of oil running down the back of the tranny is great. I see you've even added a hammer for the driver so they can deal with a balking shifter. What's that above the air tanks? The barrel cleaning rods? WOW...Nice, Nice, Nice.

For those of you not familiar with the Trumpeter 1/16 kit, here are some pictures from the release at Nürnberg which show what an out of the box build would look like. Nice, but quite a difference than what Andy has done with it. The pictures are at the bottom of the page...

Hello Andy,
Wonderful work there! I really enjoyed seeing your pictures and think you have a real winner there. You should be very proud of your work. Can't wait to see the completed kit. Hope you'll share pictures with the rest of us. Good luck with the rest of the build and have a Merry Christmas!

Best Wishes,
Walter

Andy,

I'm with Steve on this one!!! An "indepth," if you're willing, review and "how you done it" would be very nice.

Exceptional work! "Detail, detail, detail!!" "Sergeant, YES, Sergeant!!"

Me I have a Christmas ban that comes into effect once the tree goes up as 'her indoors' doesn't trust me to airbrush the cake icing in a nice ambush pattern

Geez Andy this is a beauty. It will almost be criminal to cover up all the fantastic detail you have created here. I can see that the price of these 1/16 scales can be justified. Beautiful craftsmanship by you. Bravo!!

Now if only I can find the time to get that much detail into my 1/48th version.
Great job!
(Maybe if I quit my job at the nuke plant?)
Not!
This is why I love this Hobby!

I think its hilarious when a 2 year old thread, runs again. I started reading through it .... thinking it was new (I missed this thread originally) ... and then when Andy mentioned "I've never really shown off my work before" .... I was thinking how modest he was ... until I saw the dates.
Belated congrats Andy ... this looks excellent ... did you ever finish it? Are there any other pics of the finished model??

Great tread. I have the model 43 in my stash. I have yet to tackle this cracy monster of a tank

I would also be interested in any updates on this build.
