Folks, I'm sure I could get thousands of recomendations for the "best" primer out there. But, I'm really just looking at what's most popular. I've got a small project coming up with multiple colors of plastic and brass to prepare for a final coat.
So, what's your favorite; rattle can, airbrush or brush on?

try some at your local hardware. before using it warm it up and shack and there should be no problems. its cheap ... a lot cheaper than the one sold at your hobbyshop.

Floquil Primer... thinned and airbrushed on, been using it for over 30 years, can't find a reason to change.

I use Vallejo primer through an air-brush. Seems to work with me. Some other people have pointed out in other posts that auto primer paint in a can is often very thick and can obscure details. I would be a bit wary of these rattle cans as they can also be difficult to control as well as flooding the model.

An artists trick to brass or gold, always start with a red base coat before the brass or gold it will greatly improve the look of the gold or brass.....

Well I've not used it as long as Grumpy but I do use it.I like the Floquil Primer to air brush smaller things. On larger projects with little or no under cuts I use automotive grey primer. It seams to me the cheaper it is the better it works.
