Hi All,
Here are some photos of my Sherman dio finished. The Sherman is DML's Battle of the Bulge M4A3 76mm and the truck is Tamiyas GMC. The shed, wall and telegraph pole ae scratchbuilt and the cobbles and rubble are from Kancali. I know there are a couple things I could do like add wire to the pole but I took these photos when I got the chance.
All comments welcome

I love the German relaxed sitting on the wall during interrogation. The rest of the dio is excellent too

This turned out really nice. The AFV's and the figures are weathered well. I dont see anything to nit pick. Very nice.

Looks pretty good. Only aspect I don't like is the same three figures sitting on the fender of the truck, the front right of the Sherman, and the turret of the Sherman. I would remove the guy on the turret. He doesn't look natureal sitting there anyways. Other than that, looks good.

There's a lot to like here: the compostion is good, the story is good, Ithe tracks leading out from where the truck is parked are a very nice touch. Overall construction has no obvious problems.
Two minor things, though. One, the guy following the tank looks awkward at port arms. He'd look better (and be practicing better gun safety if the gun were pointed down, slung over his shoulder, or cradled on his right arm, barrel down. The other thing is you have the same seated US figure used twice in exactly the same pose. This really catches the eye in the third picture in the series. If I were seated on a moving vehicle 6 or 7 feet of the ground, you can be sure I'd be balancing myself with my hands as outriggers.

Allied dios rock!

I will have to mention the figures too. Tamiya will have to be held responsible. The poor figures...
It's a good ideas to get some MK35 ones to replace the existing ones.
Other than that it is a sweet one thanks for sharing

Thanks everyone for the comments.

Gino, I had doubts about the guy on the turret but decided what the heck and put him on anyway but since I now have another similar view point I will take him off. Gino you will be pleased to know I have just started those DML modern marines you suggested and I have also started a base for a dio with them.

Al, You can blame DML for the pose of the figure, I am not the exactly the best at converting so I might just have to leave him as is. I will fix the duplication by removing the figure on the turret.

Young Kiwi Jedi Dude

Congrats on completing this one -- lots and lots going on in this dio. The content really keeps the viewer's eyes busy. A couple of things that just struck me as nice little touches are the trailer on the Sherm, the wood light pole anchoring one end of the dio (might want to plop a dark wash, or dry brush the wood with greys to age it a bit), the debris on the shed roof, your trade mark BUCKET on the Sherm, your usual outstanding cobble work, and your willingness to tackle a lot of items to pack into a dio, i.e. Sherm, Duece, multiple figs, and all scenery items. Nothing seems to daunt you. This is good stuff.

Other than the comments that others have made on the figures, this is a very nice dio Andy.

Mate congrats on finally completing this dio. I do recall seeing your progressive photos and it certainly came together very well. The way you painted the cobble stones and the way the mud from the sherman's track drags onto it is really realistic. The sherman is definitely my favourite part of the dio.

The only thing i noticed that you used 2 of the same figure on the same dio.

Full credit on this one!

Great work! I like how you made it look as if vehicles turned out from where the truck was sitting. The interrogation of the german pow was also a nice touch. The only thing negative that I could say is they guy sitting on the turret just doesn't look natural. Maybe put him up by the medic on the truck?

Well, all has been said, and I agree to all, and I love this dio. The fabric on the trailer, the tackmarks and the stone road attract my attention with their quality and rest of the diorama is very good too.

Regards.

Hi Andrew,
Great dio, I've read the other comments and agree with what's already been said but one teensy little thing, I don't wanna be a nit pick but there seems to be no small debris around the bricks lying at the side of the Sherman, maybe the camera but it looks to uniformed as though the bricks have been placed there. Otherwise a great dio and I like the idea of the German prisoner being interrogated. Love the wheel marks as though the GMC has reversed into the space.
Cheers,
Kenny.
