i bought a hodge podge of model parts on ebay, treads both rubber and indie, and german tank parts[ tiger ]. and other parts.
looks to be the sherman 76 i think, has two round hatches with a gun mount on rear, and an open area on left side, and the main gun looks to be complete, attached to barrel already, i mean the breechblock is already attached.
any ideas on what brand this may be, sorry can't do pics right now.

Hey reb you're making it difficult! Is it plastic? Sounds like a 76mm T23 turret. What did you mean by an open area on the left? The split hatch was moved to the left for the loader, as these turrets had a new cupola installed on the right for the commander. Later the split hatch was removed entirely, and a smaller oval loaders' hatch was introduced...HTH?!?!

the opening on left of hull may be for hatch area.
looks like it was molded that way, and i have like 3 trees of the parts, no lower hull and no plans, just parts
but ya never know when ya may need em, if i ever get out of my vn era stage

My bet is that you have the Italeri T23 turret (76mm) from their M4A1 kit.
It had the breech assembly and two circular hatches. The "open area" you cited is the shell ejection hatch on the left rear wall of the turret.

Hi Reb:
The Italeri M4A1 kit is pretty common. Here's one:
http://www.greatmodels.com/~smartcart/cgi/display.cgi?item_num=it225
If you're desparate, every die hard Sherman modeller has parts because the M4A1 kit is a common donor kit for resin conversion. I know I've got tons of upper chasses and suspension units (just no lower hull tubs). Contact me offsite if you'd like some parts

morning all and thank you for the responses!!!!!!!!!
i am in texas so i don't think i am down the road, more like round the corner.
having never built a sherman, it was surprising that i found the type so fast, and wow, like all of your responses, fast and accurate!!!!!!
i have about 4 or 5 trees with nothing but roadwheels, and other assorted parts on em, and some figures, so i don't think even with a hull it would be complete.
thanks again for offers and responses
when i can get a good cam, will photo and post here so ya'll can see the treasure i have, and who knows , maybe i can help someone else out
