Ya know, if that was all that was left of my head quarters and I wanted to still be in the fight, I'd be thinking about being a sniper really quick.

That's the first time that I've seen this model. (I think) I don't remember seeing anything before that had all the tires turning the way that you have yours turned. That is cool!

I'm so glad that I've never had to experience or be a part of anything as destructive as what your portraying. You've really done a nice job telling the story.

Great diorama and model of the armoured car.
I also like the torned red flags: it gives a graet contrast in colour.
Good work!

Russ, where do you get all those dioramas from?
Do you have a diorama chicken that legs one egg a day?
Anyways, this one is great too.
But I prefer your allied ones

Stunning piece of work sas. The ruins, the vehicle, the figs, ruble, debris etc. all looks great. The flags look fantastic.

Thankyou all for the wonderful comments, your response to my builds is a little overwelming,I thankyou very much! The amount of dios that I have been posting comes from not posting for quite some time, since the summer I think plus doing alot of individual vehicle builds which are now taking over my only display shelf and are waiting in the wings to be placed in dioramas. I do still have a few more goodies to come and at the moment have 4 new dios that need pics.
Thank you for all of your support and I hope I`ve given you some neat ideas towards your own work.

Really like this one Russ, the puma looks great! Nice rubble and ruined sections, the torn and wrecked banners really top it off, definalely shows the last desparate days of the German War Machine!

Russ,

I've seen a lot of your dioramas, but this one looks a bit different from the others.... Can't put my finger on the exact spot, but I do like what I see. Your overall dioramas are wonderfull, but this one I would rate SUPERB !!

Like I said, I dunno what makes it different from the others, but this one has something extra... I think it has got something to do with atmosphere...perhaps the colors of the picture add that something extra to it...a bit of that twilight atmosphere.

I love it !!

Hi sas

I really like that dio! Lots of stuff to find every time I look at it...

but just one little nitpick. Being German it is sometimes hard to bear the use of the German languge (well, maybe reading my posts is also a pain for native English speakers ... besides all that typos )

I'm talking about the sign "Versprengten-" ... it is incomplete! If the Nazi poster is still in place then of course the much newer sign for "Versprengtensammelstelle" (I guess) would be too.

"Versprengte" are soldiers that became seperated from their units. The have to go to the next "Versprengtensammelstelle" to be formed into a new unit for combat. (I do not know the right English word, but I hope I could make my point clear)

Also the signs do not fit together .... I would not make up a gathering point (Sammelstelle) with the enemy having insight (Feindeinsicht) :-) :-)

As I said, just minor nitpics on a really great dio!

cheers

Steffen

Many thanks to everyone for the comments, point well taken and understood Steffen,I don`t remember any of my German language now, guess it would come in handy now! My folks had to speak to me in German as that is all I understood being a kindergartner and going to school in rural Germany in 58 and 59,my Dad was in the Canadian Army and as far as I know we lived in Langschied above the Sorpusee Dam as well as in Aucken.(ignore the spelling,it`s probably way out)

I have to agree with you there Danny,it more than likely is the atmosphere on this one.A feeling of dread but at the same time you can hear a German choir in the background singing praises to their legions.

I see the headquarters but where is the "party"? :-) Sorry, just me and my stupid humor.

On a more serious note, I really like what you have done here. Starting with the slight angle at which you positioned the ruins (in reference to the edge of the base). It improves the viewing angle. Also, you have just the right amount of rubble on the ground. I always say that less if more. The vehicle and figures are very well done as well. Overall an A+.
