Does anyone know what the best, least-visible cord would be to hang an aircraft for an in-flight scene? The aircraft (f-4 phantom) is an extremely light-weight plastic model, so weight is not an issue. I want something that can barely be seen, holding it in-flight.

For hanging fishing line it is. Its usually clear in color and comes in different thicknesses.
Question - if you are doing an in flight scene, will there be groundwork? This gets to a 2ndary question, will it be displayed in a box of a fixed position in a room with the plane hanging from the ceiling? Which opens a discussion about other ways to 'fly' a plane in a diorama - clear rod from the ground, clear rod from a vertical backdrop board, or a clear rod hidden in a cloud of smoke.

The in-flight airplane is part of a large diorama with groundwork and a backdrop (painting). I've considered clear rods, but from what i've been able to find and try, they always look more obvious than thin string or wire. One problem is the airplane is about 3 feet from what i'd connect it to with a clear rod, making it look more obvious. If you have any suggestions about the thinnest, least-visible clear rods, i'd definitely appreciate it.

I think Revell ?? - makes some kits that uses a base with magnets and magnets in the aircraft ??

I'd go to the sports store and get the thinnest fishing line you can find.
