Is there any review available for the Aber PE and Eduard set for Tamiya T-55 ?

The model shop I go to has this 2 set. I am at a loss which one to pick and it is going to be my first model using PE....

I also read here that modeller use special equipment for adding PE set to a model....what are these equipment ?

Aber will be better than Eduard, but Aber has some outrageously comprehensive sets. Most include working hinges and hasps. Definitely graduate level photo etch construction. Eduard's tend to be simpler, but the pieces are much thicker than Abers's. Aber has fine detail etched into the brass. Eduard uses a stiff stainless steel.

I don't think that eduard uses steel. I've built a couple of kits with steel PE and the difference is obvious. Eduard uses brass too, but the frets are coated with nickel (or something similar), sanding them reveals the brass underneath.

You should also consider the Part PE sets. They are very well done and not that expensive as Aber and Eduard.

I have to agree with Thomas,

I've bought the Part sets as well for my T-55, and I must say that I'm very pleased with them, very comprehensive, sharp detail, and easy to paint...

This Part set was a first for me, but certainly not my last!!

Just my two cents...

John.

Lion Roar also put out a set, not a very large one, however it you are not wanting a ton of PE, maybe just the basic stuff you could try them as well, they are pretty cheap too.
