This is a much condensed version of that Remaggen bridge and it`s anti-aircraft protection, don`t think there was too much of that going on by then but nevertheless there were two m16s parked up on the rail crossing.I wanted to concentrate on the living conditions of the crew and the state of the vehicle, the placement of the tracks and the tower were for me secondary but necessary to show their location, direction provided by the soldiers passing the scene on their way across the bridge.

Well
I remember having read that the germans tried to destroy the bridge with bombing it by a couple of Arado Blitz... jet propulsed bombers... Untill that article (after Dester Storm 1 but before desert storm 2) it was the most concentrated bombig with jet bombers in history !!! So I think the americans had some AA at the bridge...
Your diorama itself looks very good I like the atmosphere of it!

Very nice SAS
The M16 is one of my favourite WW2 vehicles and yours looks great.
Adding to what Twentecable said , I recently watched a documentary on the battle for Remagan and there was some footage showing M16's fighting off a Luftwaffe air raid, they appeared to be on the high ground overlooking the bridge but hey. who's to say they where in fixed positions and not moved around.
Plus as well as the attacks by the Arado's the Germans also tried radio controlled motor boats packed with explosives to bring the bridge down and but im not 100% sure they fired a couple of V2's at it as well

Great Diorama - I have a copy of (what I believe) what is the inspiration to this diorama. You did it justice - very nice.
My diorama 'Gotcha Covered' is loosely based on that same photo.

A great crowded scene Russ, you said you wanted to show the crew's cramped conditions and I reckon you've done just that - in spades!

Yet another great work. I like it, and I like the crammed effect the figures and vehicle are making. Though, I think your weathering on some of the figures are bit too much. Just details...

I have to agree with Simon on this. The dry-brushing on the figures is way overdone, with a few seams too visible to boot. Good composition, good rubble etc., but excessive drybrushing lets the Dio's down badly.

At the time I was doing this dio I was cutting a plaster footbridge in half to widen it for a roadway on another dio,all the fine dust I thought I would save and use as I would with pastels and it works,we took pics and shipped em home to my computer. When I got home to have a look at them to my amazement the camera picked up on the dusting and made it brighter,( I have since toned it down) but I believe that`s what everyones seeing.I like it for vehicle use but not so good on figures. Thanks for the comments.

I like the way the M16 is not on level ground.
