I think the M36 Jackson TD can knock it out. in the history page of the Academy instruction booklet, it said that it was one of the few tanks that could go against tigers (or maybe it was panzers, I dunno) and have some chance to crush it.
the Academy kit is axcellent for it, but it does have some imperfections... I am painstakingly finding it out one by one... mostly, they are mistakes on my side though...

[quote]Since you're doing a diorama, what are you intending to show? The victor driving up to its kill? Otherwise, effective combat ranges would be very long to depict in a reasonable diorama.
Thanks for the interesting thread guys! I was thinking more of a first encounter around Ardenne area of "oh s%$#$2! What the heck is that?" I was imagining a U.S. tank around the corner on a street or something like that. A real close, suprise encounter. I even thought of busting out Italeri's M7 Priest from the closet ! I was wanting to go for something realistic but not ordinary.

I'm not aware of any encounters btn an M26 and a T2 but there is the time when the T26E4 "Super Pershing" killed a T2, as recounted in John Irwin's "Another River, another town". He was the gunner of the T26E4. He got off the first round which glanced upwards off of the T2's glacis. The T2's return shot went beneath Irwin's "Super". Irwin's 2nd shot was timed when the T2 was going over some debris, exposing its belly. Irwin's 2nd shot hit the T2 there and brewed it up.
Well, that settles it then. If a round from that freak of a gun bounced, there wasn't anything in the allied arsenal not mounted on a battleship that was getting through that glacis.

It must have been a freak "bounce" as the mega 90mm gun that the Super Pershing had would have cut thru the KT's glacis armor if both were sitting levell. I'm assuming that the glacis was tipped back a bit, giving the German crew a lucky (but brief) reprieve by making the Super Pershing round glance away. According to performance nos (and the close range of the two tanks), the SP should have killed the KT in normal circumstances with that first shot.

Uh I'm building this beast... it is big and large. But a nice kit.

Well I think the gunner from a KT would kill another KT if he is nuts.
