I have an idea of a diorama invvolving a Karl and Leopold being setup for a siege, perhaps in Russia with support units and vehicles. So my question is, would a Karl be positioned near a Leopold rail gun? Would that be too close for artilery pieces in case of an counter attack or air attack?
thanks

For sheer "Cool" factor, your idea has merit. However, for historical purposes, you're on thin ice.
The Morser Gerat 40/41 "Karls" were very few and the record of their usage is plain. No coincidence with the K5 28cm Railguns (Leopold).
It just gives you an excuse to make two dioramas!

Hi Brian
I can't find any instance of the Karl and the Leoplold being used together.
I'm no ballistics expert ,but just looking at them, the minimum range of the Leopold ,would far outstrip the maximum of the Karl.
I'm sure someone out there will put us right
