Over the last couple of weeks I've been slowly building a Revell M2A2 Bradley in 1:72. It's a nice simple kit and makes a good looking vehicle when done.
It was a catalogue of disaster and I’m fully convinced that this little sucker is the embodiment of evil and trickery.
First thing that went wrong was that while sanding the main gun I managed to snap it just below the muzzle, so I had to pin it back in place. The overall result was a barrel about 2mm shorter that it should be.
Second, once I'd removed all the masking for the Nato camo I noticed a piece of plastic that looked like the cover/ shield from above the drivers copula stuck the tape. But it was snapped in half! Frantic searching could not find the rest of it, so out came the plastic sheet to make the missing half.
Third, I made the track assembly and running gear separate and then fixed it into place when everything was painted. However the rear door section had encroached into where the running gear fits. The test fit was fine so I've no idea what happened. This resulted in having to file away part of the rear section and running gear and it's still not a perfect fit.
Forth and finally. There I was looking at my lovely AFV and something stuck me. One of the tracks was on backwards!!!! NO!!!!!
I very calmly put the Bradley in a box and shut in a cupboard never to see the light of day again.

Hi Sim,
my son got some fitting trouble too when assembling the hull halves. There was a gap of 1mm (!) at the bow and the ramp DOES NOT close whatever he tried to do.
The gap was filled with some plastic strip and the ramp is still not locked.
Anyway, he had fun with it.
Don't store it and show some pics if you have any.

Just had a look at the new DML Brad and it looks a completely different animal to the Revell – can’t wait to get one, or two
